7-member boy group A-JAX (Hyeongkon Jaehyung Hyojun Yunyoung Sungmin Seungjin Seungyeop)'s Jaehyung (24) acting debut was successfully completed and we hear his feelings directly.
Seo Jaehyung debuted as an actor with the leading role of Rui in the 6-episode "Vampire's Flower', which was aired on Naver TV in the beginning of this month. Within 2 years of his first stepping into the entertainment world as a member of A-JAX in 2012, he has now expanded his activity realm to include acting.

In this story of a romance between a vampire and a human, Seo Jaehyung takes the leading male role of Louis, playing opposite Kim Gaeun, who is in the female leading role of Seoyoung. Being given the lead role right in this debut acting stint, and with it being a difficult role of a "vampire" to boot, he was very anxious. Here, he had to shoot action scenes, kiss scenes, and bed scenes even. There were plenty of reasons for him to feel very burdened.
However, he threw himself into the filming process with great enthusiasm and his unique delightful personality, and earned positive reviews that his acting debut had been successfully completed.
Within 5 days of its release, viewership of the web drama surpassed the 1-million mark, and Jaehyung, together with the other members of A-JAX that participated in the drama filming - Hyeongkon, Hyojun and Seungyeop, together with Kim Gaeun, kept their promise and held an underwear dance party in Myeongdong in high spirits.
"It is true that being cast in the lead role for my acting debut, and it being an adaptation from a highly-popular webnovel, really gave me much stress. I had pretty much forgone all sleep to practise for it. On the day that the drama was released, when it shot up and stayed at the top of the rankings of real-time search results, it felt really good."
Seo Jaehyung had various new experiences during the filming of "Vampire's Flower". With Kim Gaeun, he had not just kiss scenes, but a bed scene too. Even though it was a really mild-bed scene in order to keep the drama PG-rated, it was still a very special experience to Jaehyung. Moreover, having a bed scene for his first shoot for "Vampire's Flower" left a really strong impression on him to this day.
"By the time filming had all ended, I had became close to Gaeun-nuuna, but during the time when the bed scene was filmed, I had barely met her for long - it was pretty awkward, wasn't it? Moreover, the bed scene was my first shoot! Even though it's supposed to be a 'clean' drama for teenagers so there wasn't any exposure involved, I felt really self-conscious and really was sweating buckets. But I tried to concentrate and immerse myself into the filming as much as possible. Maybe because of that, the filming went comparatively well. Haha. After the bed scene, there was kiss scene, action scenes - a whole variety of scenes, so I really learnt a lot about acting. During the afterparty, the director told me 'You've had a difficult time during the shooting of your debut work, so for your future stints, the filming will be easier!'. So I reckon that "Vampire's Flower" can be considered my lucky charm?"
During the filming of "Vampire's Flower", Seo Jaehyung also received words of encouragement from his seniors at DSP Media - KARA's Park Gyuri, Rainbow's Kim Jaekyung, Go Woori, etc. There's yet another reason to his enjoying the filming of his debut work. For this production, he also showed off his abilities as a singer. He personally composed, wrote and sang the song "I"ll Be Here" which is included in the OST. This is another unique reason for him to be attached to this work.
Having ended his acting debut on a high note, Jaehyung's zeal and passion towards acting has now increased. He's now fallen for the charm of acting, via which he can express his emotions in a concrete manner.
"While acting, I learnt about controlling my emotions. I think that I've grown richer emotionally because of it too. It seems that acting will aid me greatly in various aspects as well. My experiences from acting, I think that they will be a great asset for when I stand upon the stage as a singer henceforth too. After "Vampire's Flower", I have received various offers for more acting jobs, but I think I'll like to try playing the role of a human next. Haha."
Jaehyung hopes that his own acting activities can be of help to A-JAX too. Thinking that through his acting activities, he can help the name of A-JAX become more known among the masses, he concentrated and worked really hard for the filming of "Vampire's Flower". The results were good.
"Not just fans in Korea, fans overseas also left many good comments. Also, there has been increasing number of fans addressing me as "Louis", the name of my role in the drama. Through this drama, more people have come to know of A-JAX. By the way, if all goes well, A-JAX might be releasing a new song within the year, so I hope that fans will give us lots of support for our group activities too."
Now that Seo Jaehyung has learnt the charms of acting, much interest will focus on not just his acting, but also his activities as a singer.

7인 보이그룹 에이젝스(형곤 재형 효준 윤영 성민 승엽 승진)의 서재형(24)이 연기 데뷔를 성공적으로 마친 소감을 직접 전했다.
서재형은 이달 초 네이버 TV캐스트를 통해 방영된 6부작 '뱀파이어의 꽃'의 주연 루이 역을 소화하며 연기자로 본격 데뷔했다. 지난 2012년 에이젝스 멤버로 연예계에 첫 발을 내딛은 지 2년여 만에 연기 쪽으로까지 활동 분야를 넓혔다.
서재형은 뱀파이어와 인간의 사랑을 다룬 이번 작품에서 남자 주인공인 루이 역을 맡아 여자 주인공이자 사람인 서영 역의 김가은과 연기 호흡을 맞췄다. 연기 데뷔작부터 주연은 물론 뱀파이어란 만만치 않은 역을 맡아 걱정도 많았다. 여기에 액션신 키스신에 베드신까지 촬영해야했다. 부담감이 컸던 이유들이다.
하지만 서재형은 넘치는 열정과 특유의 유쾌한 성격으로 극에 몰입, 연기 데뷔를 성공적으로 끝냈다는 평가를 이끌어냈다.
이 작품은 공개 5일 만에 100만 뷰를 넘어 섰고, 서재형은 함께 출연한 에이젝스의 형곤 효준 승엽 및 김가은과 서울 명동에서 내복 댄스 공약을 기분 좋게 실행했다.
"연기 데뷔작에 주인공으로 캐스팅이 됐고, 원작 웹소설도 워낙 인기가 많았던 작품이라 부담감을 많았던 것은 사실이에요. 잠도 거의 자지 않으며 연습에 연습을 했어요. '뱀파이어의 꽃'이 방영된 날, 실시간 인기 검색어 최상위권에 작품 이름이 계속 올랐을 때 너무 기분이 좋았어요."
서재형은 '뱀파이어의 꽃'을 촬영하면 다양한 경험을 했다. 김가은과 키스신을 넘어 베드신도 찍었다. 청소년들도 볼 수 있는 작품이라 베드신의 수위는 낮았지만 그래도 서재형에게는 무척 특별한 경험이었다. 더욱이 자신의 '뱀파이어의 꽃' 첫 촬영이 베드신이어서 지금도 당시의 강렬했던 기억이 뇌리에 확실히 자리하고 있다.
"작품을 마친 뒤에는 (김)가은 누나랑 친해졌지만 베드신을 찍을 때까지만 해서 만난 지 얼마 안 돼 어색한 상황이었죠. 거기에다 베드신이 제 첫 촬영이었어요. 청소년물이라 노출이 많지는 않았지만 굉장히 쑥스러웠고 땀도 많이 났어요. 하지만 최대한 집중해 촬영에 몰입했죠. 그래서인지 비교적 촬영을 잘 마칠 수 있었어요. 하하. 베드신 이후에도 키스신 액션신 등 다양한 장면을 촬영하며 연기에 대해 정말 많이 배울 수 있었죠. 감독님도 뒤풀이 때 제게 '데뷔작을 힘들 게 찍었으니 다음 작품들은 수월하게 촬영할 것 있을 것'이라고 말해줬어요. 제게는 행운과 같은 작품이 바로 '뱀파이어의 꽃'인 셈이죠."
서재형은 '뱀파이어의 꽃' 촬영 중 DSP미디어에 함께 몸담고 있는 선배들인 카라의 박규리, 레인보우의 김재경 고우리 등으로부터 응원의 말도 전해 들었다. 더욱 즐겁게 연기 데뷔작을 찍을 수 있었던 또 다른 배경이다.
서재형은 이번 작품에서 가수로서의 역량도 십분 발휘했다. 직접 작사 작곡해 부른 '여기 있을게'를 '뱀파이어의 꽃' OST로 삽입했다. 이 작품에 애착이 남다른 이유다.
서재형은 연기 데뷔를 기분 좋게 마치면서 연기에 대한 갈망과 열정은 한층 높아졌다. 자신의 감정을 구체적으로 표현할 수 있는 연기의 매력에 푹 빠졌기 때문이다.
"연기를 하며 감정 컨트롤에 대해 많이 배웠어요. 감성적으로 더 풍부해졌다고 생각도 들고요. 연기는 제 자신에게 여러모로 도움이 많이 된 것 같아요. 연기를 경험한 게 앞으로 가수로 무대에 설 때도 큰 자산이 될 것 같아요. '뱀파이어의 꽃'을 끝낸 뒤 여러 곳으로부터 연기 러브콜이 들어오고 있는데 다음에는 사람 역할을 해보고 싶어요. 하하."
서재형은 자신의 연기 활동이 에이젝스에도 도움이 되길 바랐다. 연기 활동을 통해 에이젝스란 이름을 더욱 많은 사람들에 알릴 수 있다고 생각, '뱀파이어의 꽃' 촬영에 집중하고 또 집중했다. 결과는 좋았다.
"국내 팬들 뿐 아니라 해외 팬 분들도 좋은 댓글들을 많이 남겨주셨어요. 또 저를 극중 배역인 '루이'라고 칭해 주시는 분들도 많아졌고요. 이번 작품을 통해 에이젝스를 더 많이 알릴 수 있게 돼 뿌듯해요. 참, 에이젝스는 이르면 올 해 안으로 신곡을 발표할 거예요. 그룹 활동 때도 많이 응원해 주세요."
연기의 매력을 알아가고 있는 서재형이기에 향후 연기는 물론 가수 활동에도 더욱 관심이 쏠린다.
